CathPCI Metrics List

Filter by Metric:

Bleeding O/E by Access Site

Ratio of observed bleeding events compared to the expected number based on patient risk factors and procedure characteristics.

RBC/Whole Blood Transfusion

Percentage of patients undergoing PCI who required a transfusion of red blood cells or whole blood during the hospitalization.

Death, Emergency CABG, Stroke, or RTVR

Composite endpoint measuring the occurrence of in-hospital death, need for emergency coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery, stroke, or repeat target vessel revascularization (RTVR) after PCI.

Fluoroscopy Time > 60 Minutes

Percentage of PCI cases where fluoroscopy time exceeds 60 minutes.

Average Length of Stay (PCI without Other Intervention)

Mean hospital stay (in days) for patients undergoing PCI without additional cardiac surgical or procedural interventions.

Average Length of Stay (PCI for STEMI)

Mean hospital stay (in days) for patients undergoing PCI specifically for ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).

Same Day Discharge (Elective PCI)

Percentage of elective PCI patients who are safely discharged on the same day as their procedure.

Average Post-Procedure Length of Stay

Mean number of days between completion of PCI and patient discharge.

Observed Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)

Percentage of PCI patients who developed new or worsening kidney injury during hospitalization.

Observed AKI Rate by Access Site

Percentage of PCI patients developing AKI, stratified by radial vs. femoral access.

AKI O/E

Ratio of observed AKI events to expected AKI events based on patient characteristics and risk models.

Average Contrast Volume

Mean volume of contrast agent administered during PCI.

Average Cumulative Air Kerma (Radiation Exposure)

Mean cumulative radiation dose (measured in air kerma, mGy) during PCI.

Observed In-Hospital Mortality

Percentage of patients who died during the same hospitalization as their PCI procedure.

Average Procedure Time

Mean time from beginning of the procedure to the end, measured in minutes.

Composite Discharge Medications

Percentage of patients discharged on all guideline-directed medical therapies (e.g., aspirin, P2Y12 inhibitor, statin).

Cardiac Rehab Referral

Percentage of patients referred to outpatient cardiac rehabilitation at hospital discharge.

Bleeding O/E

Ratio of observed bleeding events compared to the expected number based on patient risk factors and procedure characteristics.

Radial Access Site

Percentage of percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) performed using radial artery access (versus femoral access).
