The VHAC PERT Protocol is a comprehensive, evidence-based framework designed to guide hospitals and emergency teams across Virginia in the rapid identification, activation, and management of patients with acute pulmonary embolism.

Developed by the Virginia Heart Attack Coalition (VHAC) PE Response Workgroup, this protocol unites best practices, expert input, and real-world feedback from member institutions to streamline critical decisions when every second counts.
