A Practical Guide to Connecting, Informing, and Convening Across Virginia
The Virginia Cardiac Services Quality Initiative (VCSQI) is pleased to introduce the 2026 VCSQI Member Resource Handbook, a practical guide designed to help members navigate the collaborative’s tools, resources, and opportunities.
This handbook serves as a central reference for hospitals, clinicians, administrators, data professionals, and partners engaged in VCSQI’s statewide work. It brings together, in one place, the many ways members can connect, stay informed, and actively participate in improving cardiac care across Virginia.
What This Handbook Is — and Is Not
This is not a regulatory manual or a set of new requirements. It is a member navigation guide — built to make it easier to:
Understand what VCSQI offers
Find the right tools and resources quickly
Engage meaningfully in workgroups, committees, and meetings
Stay connected to statewide efforts and partner initiatives
Organized Around Three Core Functions
The handbook is structured around VCSQI’s three core functions: Connect, Inform, and Convene.
CONNECT
Outlines how members engage with the collaborative, including:
Mission, vision, and goals
Membership pathways and statewide member sites
Leadership, governance, and organizational alliances
Member profiles, portal access, and engagement tools
INFORM
Highlights the data, tools, and educational resources available to members, including:
Member-level metrics and performance data
Evidence-based protocols and quality improvement tools
Strategies for change and predictive calculators
DEI resources for providers and patients
Publications, annual reports, and surveys
CONVENE
Details how members come together to collaborate and learn, including:
Quality Committee and specialty groups
Quality initiative workgroups
Quarterly collaborative meetings and CME opportunities
Film review, PULSE program, and statewide events
Why This Matters
As VCSQI continues to grow, the volume of tools, meetings, and initiatives has expanded.
The Member Resource Handbook creates a single source of truth that helps members:
Navigate the VCSQI website and member portal more efficiently
Understand where to engage based on their role and interests
Stay informed without missing key opportunities
Strengthen collaboration across regions and disciplines
What Members Should Do
Members are encouraged to:
Review the handbook in full
Share it with relevant team members at their organization
Use it as a reference throughout the year when engaging with VCSQI resources, meetings, and initiatives
The 2026 VCSQI Member Resource Handbook reflects our commitment to transparency, collaboration, and shared learning. By making engagement clearer and access easier, we strengthen our collective ability to improve cardiac care statewide — together.

Thank you Sherri!
